The European and Our Affairs
IPA 2011 - Information and Communication Programme
This project is implemented by Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) in partnership with LDA Zavidovici and support of Municipality of Zavidovici and Development Agency Žepče.
Location: Municipalities Zavidovici and Zepce, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Objectives:
- To help raise awareness on EU enlargement process and pre-accession assistance aimed to support the reform process at local level in Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- To help improve public understanding of the benefits of EU integration;
- To help promote tangible results of EU pre-accession assistance;
- To help reinforce the role of civil society in the public dialogue on EU accession agenda;
- To help strenghten the local ownership over the reform and EU integration process.
Final beneficiaries: local civil society, citizen groups, local community members, local media and public at large
Estimated results:
- Improved public awareness and knowledge of actual benefits of EU integration;
- Increased information provision about the effects of EU funded projects;
- Improved outreach and information dissemination on EU integration issues;
- Increased number of cross-sectoral partnerships and issue based networking for underpinning reform process;
- Improved public dialogue for common understanding of EU values.
Main activities:
- Conference „EU integration – a dialogue for the future“ in Zavidovići;
- Training seminars for CSO-s and local authorities on EU integration and pre-accession assistance;
- Training seminar for local media titled „EU Integration: prejudices and myth-buster“
- Youth for EU campaign: EU quiz in secondary schools and EU Ambassadors' visits.
This project is funded by the Europan Union.
The training titled „Partnership building for EU integrations – project cycle management“, within the project „The European and Our Affairs“, was held on January 24th 2013 in the Municipality Hall Žepče. This training represented the continuation of the one held in Zavidovići on December 12th 2012, and it is the second in line of trainings for capacity bulding of CSO's that are foreseen in the project „The European and Our Affairs“, which is financed by the EU, from IPA 2011 „Information and communication“ programme. At the end of January 2013, the LDA Zavidovici, in cooperation with ALDA, published a newsletter which is a part of the activities of the project „The European and Our Affairs“. The LDA Zavidovici and ALDA started the implementation of this project , funded by the European Union, as a part of IPA 2011 - Information and Communication Programme, during last September. „Partnership building for EU integration“ - training seminar within „The European and Our Affairs“ project

The training seminar „Partnership building for EU integration“ for civil society organizations and local governments, within the project „The European and Our Affairs“, was held in Zavidovici on the 12 December 2012. One day training in Zavidovici was organized by the LDA Zavidovici in close collaboration with Stanka Parać from ALDA as senior trainer. A conference on „EU integration, a dialogue for the future“, launch event for the one year long project: The European and Our Affairs“ took place in Zavidovici, Town Hall, on 10 October 2012. The Conference gathered forty representatives of local governments, local/regional development agencies, NGO-s and youth groups.
